Villa Affinito

Villa Affinito fits into its traditional Caserta context as an unprecedented experiment both in terms of geometry and materials; it’s a dynamic contrast of transparent and solid volumes. The project for this private home was inspired by the owner’s personality, and the intention was to combine architectural refinement, technological progress and the pragmatism typical of a strong entrepreneurial spirit. One characteristic element of the project, something the client emphasised in particular, is the evident connection between interior and exterior, through a series of solutions providing continuity between living space and the natural green areas outdoors.

Cotto d’Este 40×100 cm laminated stoneware slabs, and two colours from the Elegance collection (Via Condotti and Via Tornabuoni) were used to create clean, precise architectural volumes to stand the test of time. This solution was adopted for the entire outer shell, where the continuity of the slabs is interrupted by large windows. Different technological solutions help minimize the visual impact of frames and supports, emphasising the rigor of the building.
