Lea Ceramiche between art and design Solo exhibition of the artist Orodè Deoro Chartres, France | 24 June – 3 September 2017
Lea Ceramiche meets art at the solo exhibition of the artist Orodè Deoro.
An extensive monographic exhibition on contemporary mosaics, curated by the architect Fabio Novembre, is going to be held in the town of Chartres, France. It features a selection of artworks created by the Apulian artist and made from hand-cut ceramics, epoxy stucco and paint.
Among the works exhibited are some masterpieces constructed using Lea Ceramiche’s Slimtech slabs. An innovative digital technique allows to recreate a floral design on an extra thin laminated stoneware, which is then used as a background for bold mosaic compositions: the perfect combinstaion of design, painting, digital printing and ceramic fragments.
The collaboration between Lea Ceramiche and the artist from Apulia brought to new experiments and innovative applications of Slimtech in non-conventional fields. Specifically, it was possible to use Slimtech and the customization of digital printing in art thanks to the LEA LAB project. The technology of Lea Ceramiche, which was used to support Orodè Deoro’s creativity, brought to an outstanding result: decorated slabs blended together with plastic compositions, thus creating powerful artworks that transmit great energy and creative strength.
Experimenting new applications of porcelain stoneware has always allowed Lea Cermaiche to stand out. Thanks to its deep knowledge in this field, gained over time, the company managed to focus on the evolution of the creative attitude, also investigating new interpretative approaches and going beyond the traditional wall-floor boundaries. The collaboration with international designers and architects, supported by advanced technology in the industrial processes, contributed to offer a different interpretation of ceramics, always considering the right balance between design and traditions.
The exhibition Mon coeur mis à nu, et pas seulement, installed at Chapelle Saint Eman, drew inspiration from the work of the French poet Charles Baudelaire’s “Mon coeur mis à nu”. The association Les 3R that has been organizing “Les Rencontres Internationales de mosaique” in the town of Chartres since 1992 has turned this French municipality into a reference point for global contemporary mosaics.
